Faisal Fulfils Childhood Dream as First Masdar PhD Graduate

Faisal Al Marzooqi recently fulfilled a childhood dream when he became the first student to receive a PhD from the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology.

And now he’s ready to embark on a new dream: to help put the UAE on the map as a global leader in research.

The 29-year-old Emirati said: [quote]

“It’s a high priority of the UAE’s Vision 2021 to build a knowledge-based economy, and for that we need to encourage students in school to think more seriously about going into research.”
